What is Certified Payroll?
Certified payroll is a special weekly payroll used by contractors working on federally funded projects. An authorized company official signs each payroll to “certify” that the information is true and correct.
To meet certified payroll requirements, employers will submit Form WH-347 to the contracting agency. This form includes information about employees, their wages, and the total hours worked.
Form WH-347 ensures employees are being paid the prevailing wage, which is the average wage for employees in a certain occupation. This report shows that a business is compliant with these requirements.
Prevailing wage doesn’t apply to salaried employees in executive and administrative positions. It applies solely to employees who spend the majority of their time performing manual labor.
What is needed to set up Certified Payroll?
To set up Certified Payroll, the following information must be provided to Auris:
- Labor Classification (WorkClass): codes and descriptions
- Project: codes and descriptions
- Project location
- Contract number
- Project begin and end dates
Is there a cost to use this feature in Auris?
Auris does not charge to generate the Certified Payroll Report (Form WH-347). However, it is the employer's responsibility to review the information for accuracy, complete any fields requiring manual entry, and submit the form with all necessary information to your contracting agency.
What if we require state-certified payroll reporting?
Great news! Auris partners with LCPtracker for state-certified payrolls. Continue to LCPtracker State Certified Payroll: Getting Started for more information.
